The 76th National Fire Service Day will be observed on 14th April 2020, followed by Fire Prevention Week. The National Theme for the year is;

Poster Competition for School Children, 05th April 2020: As a prelude to the National Fire Service Day on 14th April 2020, the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services is launching a series of activities to enhance the level of awareness among the citizens with stress on school children.
As a part this awareness campaign a Poster Competition is organized for the Primary and Middle School Children of the State on 05th April 2020 . The Competition is divided into two groups, Group I (7-10 years) – Topic: “Good Fire & Bad Fire” and Group II (11-14 years) – Topic : “Ideas of Benefits & Dangers from Fire” .
The Department has identified the following schools as the centers for holding the competitions: Panaji – Don Bosco High School, Panaji; Mapusa – Government Primary & Middle School, Near Police Station, Mapusa; Vasco – Mother of Mercy High School, Merces Vaddem, Vasco; Pilerne – Don Bosco High School, Calangute, Bardez. Pernem – Government Primary Middle School Surbanwada, Pernem; Ponda – A. J. De Almeida High School, Ponda, Goa. Bicholim – Bicholim Government High School, Near Old Police Station, Bichilim; Valpoi – Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Valpoi; Old Goa – Old Goa Educational Institute, Katyebhat, Ella, Old Goa; Kundaim – New English High School, Kundaim, Ponda; Margao – Government College of Commerce & Economics, Behind Multipurpose High School, Borda Margao, Goa; Cuchorem – The Sarvodaya Educational Society’s High School, Curchorem; Canacona – Muncipal Hall, Chaudi, Canacona; Verna – A1 Madina High School Verna, Near Hotel Antique Mardol, Verna, Goa.

The participants are requested to report to the venues of the Competition at 10:00 hours. Each Group will have 3 Cash Prizes and Certificates besides participation Certificate for all participants.
triGoa Fire Run- 19th April 2020:The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services will be commemorating National Fire Service Day on 14th April 2020 followed by the Fire Prevention Week between 14th-20th April 2020.
During the Fire Prevention Week 2020 the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services in association with triGoa will be organizing the 3rd edition of the “triGoa Fire Run- 2020”. This run is organized to honour the memory of the Firemen Martyrs of the State and the Country. A 21 KM Half Marathon, 10 KM Competitive Run and a 5 KM Run/Walk will be conducted as per national standards. Timing Chips, T-shirts, Hydration Points, Music and Refreshments will be provided to the participants. More than 1000 participated in the last edition of the Goa Fire Run - 2018 and we expect 1500+ runners to participate in this edition. We plan to make the event the most sought after run in the state of Goa and expect participation from across India.
