Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services observed 5th International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2019

The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services in association with State Ayush Society Goa, National Ayush Mission observed 5th International Day of Yoga at Goa State Fire Force Headquarters, St-Inez, Panaji on 21st May 2019 at 9:00 hrs. Shri Ashok Menon, Director Fire & Emergency Services attended State Level Function of 5th International Day of Yoga organized by Directorate of Health Services in association with Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs at Community Hall Taleigao.


The International Day of Yoga was conducted at the Fire Force Headquarters, Panaji and also at Fire Station Margao, Ponda, Curchorem, Canacona, Verna, Valpoi, Bicholim, Oldgoa & Kundaim. Approximate 250 Fire Personnel attended the event across the Goa.


Smt. Shraddha Parab, Sr. Instructor, Art of Living guided the Fire Personnel at Fire Force Headquarters, Panaji. Shri. Ajit Kamat, Asst. Divisional Officer, North Zone attended the function and he mentioned that yoga promotes tolerance, acceptance and peace in the world and hoped International Day of Yoga will bring inner and outer peace, and lead the way toward more tolerance societies.


Similar Programme of International Day of Yoga was conducted at Margao wherein Yoga Instructor Mr. Mahesh Kamat guided the Fire Personnel on importance of Yoga. Shri Nitin V. Raiker, Dy. Director (Fire) attended the function in Margao.


Shri R. A. Haldankar Divisional Officer attended the function at Ponda wherein our own Fire Personnel Shri. Santosh R. Gaonkar, Leading Fire Fighter did presentation on “Samarpan Dyan Yoga” highlighting the importance of Yoga in daily life. Shri. Harichandra Guruji from Tapobhumi Kundaim guided the Fire personnel on various Yoga postures and conducted talk on importance of yoga.


Yoga-day
