India celebrated its 79th Independence Day on 15th August 2025 with patriotic fervor across the nation. As part of the celebrations, Shri. Nitin V. Raiker, Director, Fire & Emergency Services, unfurled the National Flag at the Fire Force Headquarters, St. Inez, Panaji–Goa, in the presence of officers, fire personnel, and staff. The event was attended in full strength by the Directorate’s operational and administrative staff, reflecting unity and commitment across the department.
In his address, Shri. Raiker extended greetings to all personnel, commending their dedication, courage, and commitment in safeguarding lives and property. He urged them to continue serving society with devotion, ensuring that Goa remains safe and secure, thereby upholding the pride of the Tricolour.
During his speech, Shri. Raiker announced the official registration of the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services Employees Co-operative Credit Society Ltd. under the Goa Co-operative Societies Rules, 2003. He stated that this initiative will enhance financial cooperation, mutual support, and welfare among the employees of the Directorate.
On this occasion, it was also highlighted that the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has conferred the Bronze Disc upon Shri Nitin V. Raiker in recognition of his exemplary leadership in managing major fire and emergency situations across Goa. Additionally, Shri Ulhas Gaonak, Sub-Officer, Canacona Fire Station, was honoured with the Medal for Meritorious Service, which was presented by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod P. Sawant.
The celebrations reflected the Department’s unwavering commitment to public safety, teamwork, and service to the community.
