Panaji, January 26, 2026:The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services celebrated the 77th Republic Day with grandeur and enthusiasm at the Fire Force Headquarters, St. Inez, Panaji. The event was marked by a sense of pride, unity, and patriotism, as personnel gathered to
commemorate the nation’s progress and reaffirm their commitment to public safety.

The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Shri Nitin Raiker, Director of Fire & Emergency Services. The vibrant Tricolor fluttered proudly against the clear sky, accompanied by the resonating notes of the National Anthem.

In his address, Shri Nitin Raiker extended warm greetings to all present and expressed his gratitude to the dedicated personnel of the Directorate for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He lauded the Directorate’s achievements in enhancing public safety and emergency preparedness. He emphasized the ongoing initiatives to modernize equipment, enhance training programs, and strengthen community outreach efforts.

The highlight of the celebration was a well-coordinated parade by the Fire & Emergency Services personnel at the University Ground at Taleigao. The disciplined march, showcasing their skills and unity, was a testament to their rigorous training and commitment. The parade was led by Shri. Rupesh Sawant, Station Fire Officer with contingents demonstrating precision and synchronization that drew admiration from the audience.

The Republic Day celebrations at the Fire Force Headquarters reflected the Directorate’ sun wavering dedication to its motto: “We Serve to Save.” It was a day to honour the bravery, commitment, and sacrifices of the personnel who work tirelessly to protect lives and property, often at great personal risk.
