The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Porvorim, successfully organized the Goa Fire Run 2025 on the morning of 20th April 2025 at 06:30 hrs. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from citizens across Goa, reinforcing the importance of fitness, public safety awareness, and community engagement.
The Goa Fire Run, now an annual event, aims to raise awareness about fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and the invaluable role of first responders. Participants included individuals from diverse backgrounds – students, professionals, senior citizens, athletes, and volunteers – all united by a shared commitment to health and safety. Also it highlights the this year Fire Prevention Week theme-“Unite to Ignite, A Fire Safe India”.
The run featured 2 Km Walk & 5 km run, ensuring inclusivity and encouraging people of all age groups and fitness levels to take part. Alongside the run, awareness stalls, emergency demonstration drills, and fire safety education sessions were conducted, highlighting essential tips and preventive measures for fire emergencies at home and in workplaces.
Officials from the Directorate emphasized the need for public cooperation in building a safer and more resilient community. The event also served as a platform to honor the tireless service of Goa’s fire personnel and to foster stronger citizen–emergency service relations.
The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services expressed sincere gratitude to the Rotary Club of Porvorim, event volunteers, supporters, and most importantly, the participants, for their wholehearted support in making the Goa Fire Run 2025 a grand success.
This initiative stands as a powerful reminder that a fit society is a safe society — where awareness, preparedness, and cooperation go hand in hand.
