During the recent cyclone storm “Tauktee” the mining area such as Dharbandora, Mollem, Sacordem, Collem, Usgao, Kirlapal – Dabal, Savordem, Fatorpa Curchorem were affected and the Fire and Emergency Services could not respond swiftly due to limited equipment’s and narrow roads in the areas.  Hence the District Mineral Foundation (Trust) South Goa were requested to provide with below mentioned equipments.

1.02 Nos of Quick Response vehicles (QRV) built on TATA Yodha Single Cab Chassis. The fire fighting appliance (Quick Response Vehicle) is mounted with Water Mist Fire Fighting System having a water tank capacity of 500 liters and 50 liters of Foam capacity. The vehicle is also attached with one 60 mtrs. High Pressure Hose Reel Hose with High Pressure Gun. The Portable Generator of 3KVA is mounted on chassis of the vehicle which will be used as a source of electricity whenever required. The two numbers of Petrol Chain Saw and two numbers of Electrical Chain Saw is provided and 02 nos of torches are provide on vehicles for use in emergency for cutting fallen trees etc. The vehicles will be deployed at Fire Station Curchorem and Ponda respectively. The approximate cost for Chassis and Fabrication along with equipments and accessories of 2 Nos. Quick Response Vehicles is Rs.72,64,746/- exclusive of taxes.  

2.03 Nos High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Rescue Boats of 08 Seaters capacity with OBM of 25 HP alongwith Trailer (Trolley). The boat has been provided with 08 Nos. of Life Jackets. The Rescue Boats will be deployed at Fire Station Margao,  Curchorem and Ponda. The approximate cost for 03 Nos. High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Boat with OBM of 25 HP along with Trailer – 8 Seaters is Rs.22,14,000/- exclusive of taxes.

3.03 Nos of Submersible pumps of 1000 LPM are procured at the total cost of Rs. 15,66,000/- exclusive of Taxes.  The pumps will be deployed at Fire Station Margao, Curchorem and Ponda.

4.03 Nos of Battery-Operated Lights of 32000 Lumens each are procured at the total cost of Rs.9,61,200/- exclusive of Taxes. The battery operated lights will be deployed at Fire Station Margao,  Curchorem and Ponda.

5.Further 02 Nos. of Mahindra Bolero B6 OPT BS6 Diesel were procured under GeM from the funds of the Government of Goa. These vehicles have been procured against the Condemnation of 02 Nos. of TATA Mobiles Vehicles. The said vehicles will be used to the Dy. Director (Admn.) and Head of Office at Central Zone and South Zone for official and Operational purpose. The approximate cost for 2 Nos. Mahindra Bolero B6 OPT BS6 is Rs.18,08,018/- inclusive of all taxes.

Raiker, Director, Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Shri. Rajendra Haldankar, Divisional Officer, Central Zone and Shri. Ajit K. Kamat, Asst. Divisional Officer, North Zone inaugurated the 02 nos. of Quick Response vehicles (QRV), 03 nos. of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Rescue Boat, other specialised equipment and 02 Nos. of Mahindra Bolero on 13.09.2022 at 10:15 hrs. at Fire Force Headquarters, St.Inez Panaji Goa.
