38th ANNUAL DRILL COMPETITION HELD ON 17.01.2026

To test the overall operational fitness level of the Fire Personnel for prompt response in the event of any emergency, the 38th Annual Drill Competition was conducted for all the Fire Stations in the State of Goa on 17th January 2026 at Fire Force Training Ground, St. Inez, Panaji, Goa.

The Annual Drill Competitions comprising of Squad Drill, Ladder Drill, Pump Drill and Tug of War was declared open by Shri Nitin V. Raiker, Director of Fire & Emergency Services. This is an annual event to bring forth the talents of the Fire Force Personnel in limelight and encourage the participants to showcase their skills & enhance their self-esteem.

The Director, in his address, stated that the Stationwise Annual Drill Competition is a proud tradition of the department and a true test of fitness, discipline, teamwork, and professional skills essential for effective firefighting and emergency response. He expressed confidence that the competition would reflect the dedication, courage, and high standards of the fire personnel and wished all participating stations the very best.

Shri. Mohan Naik, former Superintendent of Police, Goa Police, Dr. Vishal Katekar, Research Associates, NIDM, Shri. M K. Sharma, former Divisional Officer, Delhi Fire Service and Shri. Gopal B. Shetye, Station Fire Officer (DFES) (Retd) judged the events. Shri. Rupesh Sawant, Station Fire Officer compered the function and the Vote of Thanks was presented by Shri. Shripad Gawas, Divisional Officer (North Zone).
