The National Disaster Management Authority, Government of India in collaboration with Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) had organized the Workshop on Launching/ Training of MIS & Mobile App for Upscaling of Aapda Mitra Scheme on 22nd July 2022 at Hotel Lalit, Bangalore. Hon. Chief Minister Govt. of Karnataka, Shri. Basavaraj Somappa Bommai inaugurated the workshop in presence of Shri. R. Ashoka, Hon’ble Revenue Minister, GoK, Principal Secretary, RD & Commissioner, KSDMA, Dr. Manoj Rajan, Commissioner, KSDMA, Shri. Kunal Satyarthi, Joint Secretary, NDMA, Smt. Vandita Sharma, Chief Secretary, GoK, Shri. Rajendra Singh, Member, NDMA and Shri. S R. Umashankar, Principal Secretary, RD.


Presentation by States on successful implementation of the Aapda Mitra Scheme were presented wherein Shri. Nitin V. Raiker, Director, Fire & Emergency Services, Govt. of Goa presented the best practices adopted in implementing the Aapda Mitra & Aapda Sakhi Scheme in Goa. He showcased the visuals of the Aapda Mitra & Sakhi Shri. Nitin V. Raiker, Director, DFES, Presenting during NDMA Occasion at Hotel Lalit, Bangalore. training on various topics viz Basic Concept of Disaster Management, Disaster Preparedness, Basic Search and Rescue, Earthquake and safety, Flood/Cyclone/Tsunami, Medical First Aid, Rope Rescue and improvised Techniques & Flood Rescue Techniques Exercise. He also presented the departments initiative in the filed of IT related features on the scheme such as Live Calls, Daily Situation Report and geo-referencing the locations of the community volunteers across the State of Goa, which are available on the department official website portal dfes.goa.gov.in. The presentation was well received by all present at the Workshop. Also Shri. Shubham Naik, Under Secretary (Revenue), Govt. of Goa were present on the occasion. Shri Rajender Singh, Member, NDMA, New Delhi, MHA placed on record the efforts made by Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Goa in training the community. During concluding session Shri. Nawal Prakash, Joint Advisor, NDMA gave the Vote of Thanks.


Presentation on salient features & details of various modules of the MIS portal & Mobile App developed by Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority with hands-on practice to State officers on using the Mobile Application was demonstrated by Shri. Dr. Manoj Rajan, Commissioner, KSDMA. A visit was also organized to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre wherein presentation of innovative practices in Disaster Management was demonstrated on 23rd July 2022.
