The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services celebrated its Annual Raising/ Family Day Function on January 21, 2025 at 16:00 hrs. The event was held at the Princessa Boat Cruise, Santa Monica Jetty, Panaji and witnessed a gathering of dignitaries, staff, parents, and students. A highlight of the ceremony was about the awarding of scholarships to 110 deserving children of the Fire Personnel across the State. The event marked a significant occasion for the Directorate, showcasing its commitment to the welfare and educational growth of its community. Shri. Nitin V. Raiker, Director, Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services officiated as the Chief Guest for the function. He was joined by Shri. Pundalik A. Parab, Dy. Director (Admn.), Shri. Francisco Mendes, Divisional Officer of South Zone; Shri. Shripad Gawas, Divisional Officer of North Zone; Shri. Ajit K. Kamat, Assistant Divisional Officer of Central Zone; Shri. Bosco Ferrao, Assistant Divisional Officer of North Zone; Shri. Deepak Sawant, Honorary Secretary of the Goa Fire Service Welfare Fund; Shri. Milind Dessai, Honorary Treasurer of the Goa Fire Service Welfare Fund; and Smt. Neha Nitin Raiker. Their presence added gravitas to the event, underscoring the importance of this milestone celebration.
During his keynote address, Shri. Nitin V. Raiker expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the scholarship recipients for their accomplishments in the academic year 2023-2024. He commended their dedication and encouraged them to excel in their studies, aiming for higher achievements in the future. Shri. Raiker also advised the students to cultivate discipline, respect their parents, and embrace positive habits and thoughts. He emphasized that such values play a pivotal role in shaping a successful and fulfilling life.
Shri. Raiker also took the opportunity to highlight the significant role of the Goa Fire Service Welfare Fund. He acknowledged the fund's consistent efforts in supporting the educational pursuits of children from financially constrained backgrounds, especially those enrolled in professional courses. He also commended the members of the Managing Committee for their exemplary dedication and meticulous efforts in orchestrating this exceptional event. He thanked Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Government of Goa, President of the Goa Fire Service Welfare Fund, Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS for giving the opportunity to celebrate the Family Day function on the Cruise Boat. Further he conveyed the best wishes of the Hon’ble Chief Secretary to all the students and their parents.
To enhance the entertainment quotient of the event, a spellbinding Cultural Program by the Tiswadi Cultural Sangh, Curca, and a lively Karaoke Music session by Dada Music, Kumbarjhua, were organized for the enjoyment of children and families. The captivating one-hour performances were brimming with energy, talent, and cultural vibrancy, leaving the audience thoroughly engaged and entertained. Both children and parents were delighted by the exceptional displays, which added a distinctive charm to the celebration. The seamless blend of cultural artistry and musical melodies made the event a resounding success, fostering a sense of joy and community among the attendees.
